ICAE sent the mural painted in Amman under the direction/inspiration of Iraqi artist Qais Al Sindy to the VanDuyne Elementary school, where art teacher Ilene Layow worked with 3rd grade students to create a response mural. They chose to incorporate two of the small murals painted in Amman with Beda Mahmoud into their own mural. You see them placed akimbo on the mural: children flying kites and the Iraqi flag.

The project in Syracuse NY was funded in part by Partners for Arts Education, in New York State. ICAE worked with ArtRage Gallery to create an exhibit of the Iraqi and US murals and documenting photographs.
